From Deeply Rooted to In Pieces

One of my favorite parts of being an artist, is having the opportunity to collaborate with other artists of all mediums.

Following the success of Deeply Rooted, I was experiencing a giant case of the post show blues.  I was feeling so proud and pumped that we were able to host an amazing weekend of dance, yet so sad that it was over.  I decided that I wanted to put on another show, but in a non-traditional dance space.  I sat down and began thinking about the rich resources in our community how to collaborating artistically with them.

As it so happens, my husband and I had recently been talking about visiting the SOWA district to check out some of our local art galleries, which is exactly what we did one Saturday afternoon.  What I found in the Kingston Gallery is a beautiful space that is run collaboratively by the artists whose work is on display.

I fell in love with their mission and their openness to hosting a dance performance.  I went home that day and knew I needed to pursue this wonderful opportunity.

With that, In Pieces was born!

In Pieces explores the literal and figurative pieces of our lives; fragments of lost love, friendship, and how we have learned to adapt to our ever-changing world.

This evening of dance takes you on a journey of the human experience from our moments of chaos and breaking down to our moments of triumph. In Pieces will feature two world premiere works as well as fan favorite choreography in Boston’s Kingston Gallery in the vibrant SOWA arts district.
