Sasso & Company

Sasso & Company was formed in 2014 by Artistic Director Lacey Sasso as a premiere contemporary dance group comprised of strong, fierce, passionate women.  The company’s work is bold, emotional, and captivating for the first time dance viewer as well as a seasoned dance lover.

Sasso & Company’s first season was fully backed by a Kickstarter campaign allowing for the full creative focus to be on the psychology behind Love in Motion.  In 2016, Dancing the Distance was performed to two SOLD OUT audiences at Cambridge’s Green Street Studios.

The 2017-2018 season featured the company’s new work Deeply Rooted , which focused on the theory of attachment; the method in which all human connections are created.

Further, the company more deeply explored our mission of collaboration through our immersive performance at the SOWA District’s Kingston Gallery for In Pieces.

In February 2019, the company engaged dance lovers and beer enthusiasts alike at Movement Filtration performed in Dorchester Brewing Company‘s tap room.  This eclectic, intimate evening of dance was received joyously by a packed brewhouse and allowed the company to further engage and collaborate with local area artisans.

Currently, the company is preparing for our weekend performance series, Days Gone By on May 10 & 11 at the The Dance Complex Julie Ince Thompson Theatre in Cambridge  Days Gone By will be the culmination of a full season of creative exploration surrounding the Buddhist belief in dukkha; one of the Four Noble Truths.  Roughly defined, dukkha is the pain and suffering of daily life; the desire for more; the exhaustion of monotony. This evening of dance will feature THREE new world premiere pieces alongside company and fan favorite repertoire.  Tickets are available here.
